GHD at Spark Indigenous Energy Summit | Calgary, AB | Nov 5-6

At GHD, we embrace a journey of respect and reciprocity, recognizing that sustainable progress is inseparable from Indigenous partnership. Our work in energy and resources spans the full spectrum of innovation and delivery, yet it is our commitment to reconciliation that shapes how we listen, learn and lead.

Our team of professionals will be attending the Spark Indigenous Energy Summit to live our commitment to co-creating energy futures that are innovative, inclusive and grounded in partnership. By contributing to conversations on emerging energy technologies and Indigenous perspectives in mining and critical minerals, we bring a multidisciplinary approach shaped by technical excellence and a deep respect for Indigenous knowledge systems. Our Reconciliation Action Plan guides us in building equity-driven relationships that support sustainable development and community-led progress. Together, we aim to power tomorrow through shared leadership and meaningful collaboration.

Title: Dancer

Media: Photography/Digital Art
Artist: Stephanie One Spot

This photo represents the celebration and ceremony of dancing. When we dance, we pray for our Nations to continue to represent our sovereignty. We pray for our loved ones to be strong every day. We dance for those who cannot dance due to illness and for those who cannot attend the celebrations with us.

Stephanie One Spot is from the Sarcee (Tsuut’ina) First Nation. She grew up all her life on the Tsuut’ina reserve by the Buffalo Paddocks. Her connection to land based knowledge embraces her curiosity through textures and materials. She explores themes of tradition into the contemporary through different media. She graduated from the Alberta University of the Arts, and has worked with photographs as reference, spray paint, acrylics, mixed media, natural materials including hide, willow, sand, dirt, trees, bark, visual media, spoken word and projection. She researches traditional stories that help guide her views and she interprets them into her art.

Her work has been exhibited at AUArts student galleries, The Central Library, Stride Gallery, The Bows, C space, Truck Contemporary, ATB Branch for Arts and Culture, Fish Creek Library, Park Calgary, The Confluence and Crawlspace Gallery.
