The South Australian Government has set goals to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by at least 60% below 2005 levels by 2030, and to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Significant investments are needed across the economy to meet these commitments, with climate-related financial disclosures playing a crucial role. Join us as we explore the practical steps organisations need to take to understand carbon impact, prepare for net zero and adapt for a climate-resilient tomorrow.

Our dynamic panel discussion will be facilitated by GHD’s Laura Trotta, Technical Director - Climate Change, and Michael Simioni, Executive Advisor – Environment and Social Governance (ESG) and Decarbonisation. The panel features ESG specialists across the transport, energy and utilities sectors:

Tara is a well-versed infrastructure and strategy professional focused on sustainability, environmental management, engagement & project delivery. She holds deep expertise aligning infrastructure & major projects with environment, social & governance objectives. With a background in environmental science, she is passionate about systems-based thinking & believes the power of collaboration can tackle long-term challenges, enhance decision-making & build resilience.

Colleen leads sustainability, positioning ElectraNet as a net zero leader in SA. With significant experience in critical infrastructure & major projects in the energy sector, alongside passion for reconciliation, inclusivity & the environment, Colleen brings strong project & change management leadership to a rapidly evolving sustainability landscape. Her ability to align stakeholders & drive meaningful outcomes models the actions needed to shape a more sustainable & equitable future.

With more than 25 years of experience in environmental management and sustainability, Laura specialises in climate change risk assessments & resilience planning as Chair of GHD’s APAC Climate Risk Taskforce. She has led more than 100 climate risk and adaptation studies for clients across all industry sectors & holds credentials as an ISO 14001 EMS Lead Auditor, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt & Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional.

Michael Simioni, Executive Advisor – ESG and Decarbonisation at GHD

Dr Michael Simioni, a Chemical Engineer with more than 18 years of global experience, specialises in emerging energy technologies, decarbonisation & ESG strategy. He has led projects across Australia, the US, China, Japan, Europe and Latin America in hydrogen, green ammonia, CCUS, and renewables, contributed to emissions baselining and disclosure, & holds a PhD in Carbon Capture and Storage. Michael excels in stakeholder engagement and decarbonisation roadmaps.
